PROTECT
OUR COASTLINE
Save Del Mar North Bluff and Dog Beach from Environmental Disaster
Save Our Bluff (SOB) SD is a grassroots organization in North County San Diego. We are taking urgent action to raise public awareness around the reckless development plans threatening San Diego's coastal and inland communities alike.
Southern CA is and always will be a desirable area for commercial and residential real estate developers, however, when is enough enough? And at what cost do these rushed and money driven commercial projects come? Are locals and their best interests, property values, quality of life, etc. at the heart of these developments or is it all smoke and mirrors?
SOB is here to speak on behalf of Mother Nature, and Mama said, "hold the phone on the coastal development!"
OUR CURRENT MISSION
Protect the coastal North Bluff above Del Mar's Dog Beach from commercial development attempts and work with Del Mar and Solana Beach communities to establish a community park.
The parcels at risk are currently listed for sale.

The latest development play on the Lazier lot is for high density housing, with the claim it will help solve Del Mar's affordable housing crisis. If Del Mar is being pressured to identify long term, affordable housing solutions then the rapidly eroding bluff is certainly not the answer to their dilemma.
Other options outside the crumbling, SAND-stone North Bluff come to mind. For example, Del Mar can work with the state to build housing on the Del Mar Fairgrounds land OR repurpose much of the vacant commercial space that has been sitting dead throughout its city since 2020 (retail, office, you name it...let's get creative, people!).
The Del Mar North Bluff is PRICELESS and we owe it to our inspiring Planet Earth to protect it. With a combined sales price of nearly $100,000,000.00 for raw land, there is nothing "affordable" about this oceanfront real estate. IT MAKES NO SENSE!
Together we will make a difference in the future fate of our beautiful Southern California coastline.
